Description
Our Red Koi Guppies are a sought after koi-style variety admired for their bold colours and distinctive fin shape. Males develop flowing fins and tails, highlighted by a vibrant red face, fins, and tail, set against an iridescent silver body. They have a refined and exotic look, making them a standout in any aquarium. Females are larger and more robust, with less colouration, but add balance and strength to this striking strain.
Age and Longevity
All Red Koi Guppies are shipped between 3 to 5 months of age, often before reaching full maturity. This ensures the best possible longevity in your aquarium. With proper care, guppies live between 1 to 3 years.
Photos and Genetic Potential
The images shown are of our breeding pairs. Offspring may differ in colour and pattern as they mature. Please use the photos as a guide to the genetic potential of this line.
Enhancing Colour and Appearance
To achieve the most vibrant guppy colours, we recommend:
-
Feeding a varied diet, including live foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and mosquito larvae, which promotes deeper pigmentation.
-
Housing guppies in dark-coloured tanks, where the contrast enhances their natural colours.
-
Experimenting with different aquarium lighting spectrums to highlight unique traits and produce visually striking results.
